GETTING SETTLED INChedraui

One of the first trips you will want to make is to Chedraui, the large "Walmart" styled grocery store directly across the street.  There you will find a pharmacy, deli, bakery, fresh fish, imported gourmet items, beer, a wine selection from around the world, toiletries, clothing, snacks, and other necessities for your stay.  Do not forget to pick up the following items:

  • Bottled water, both large and small bottles
  • Iodine solution (found in the produce department) to wash all fresh produce
  • Snacks and drinks for your kitchen
  • Sunscreen and other liquid toiletries you could not bring on the plane due to airline restrictions

Chedraui accepts US currency and major credit cards but it is a hassle to pay with a credit card.  Chedraui also has ATMs for cash withdrawls (given in Mexican Pesos).
